2. Courtroom Admissibility

HashPaper generates cryptographic hashes designed to assist in compliance with the mathematical and formatting standards of electronic evidence under Section 63 of the Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). However, the ultimate admissibility and weight of any evidence in a court of law are determined solely by the presiding judge. HashPaper makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the legal outcome of any dispute.

3. No Verification of Originality

The issuance of a HashPaper Certificate strictly proves that a specific string of text existed at a specific point in time. It does not prove that the submitter is the original author of the text, nor does it grant statutory copyright or patent protection. HashPaper does not cross-reference submissions for plagiarism or existing patents.

4. Preservation of Evidence

To utilize a HashPaper certificate in a legal proceeding, the burden of proof rests entirely on the user to present the exact, unaltered raw data file (.txt) that perfectly matches the SHA-256 hash on our ledger. HashPaper bears no responsibility if the user modifies, corrupts, or loses this file.
